Week #6
No letter from Ryker this week since he left the CTM and has been traveling/getting situated in his first area in the field, with his trainer. But here’s a sweet tender mercy for you. . . we have some friends in our ward here in Cedar Hills (Paskett’s) who had a trip planned to Brazil, to take their older son who served his mission in Rio de Janeiro. . . to the Rio Temple dedication. After that, they flew down to São Paulo to visit Jenny Miller’s (our bishop’s wife) Sister & Brother-in-Law, who are the Campinas Mission Leaders. Anyway. . . I was needing to get another pair of shoes (not cheap!) and a few other items to Ryker, as an early Birthday present. . . and they offered to take the package to Ryker! They just so happened to show up at the São Paulo CTM on Ryker’s LAST DAY in the CTM!!! President & Sister Horsley also delivered homemade cookies and a big jar of peanut butter to Ryker - SOO KIND!! Not only was it peace of mind being able to get the package hand delivered. . . Bro. Paskett was also able to call their son Kyle, (who is also serving in Brazil, and Ryker was buddies with in high school) so Ryker could talk to Kyle, who had been serving for 6 months longer than Ryker. It REALLY meant A LOT to Ryker to be able to connect with Kyle, who gave him lots of great advice and helped calm Ryker’s nerves, as he was getting ready to fly to his first area in the mission field. Such incredible timing. . . sweetest tender mercy. Just another witness to Ryker that Heavenly Father is SO aware of him. . . and in the tiniest of details of his life! Of ALL of our lives!! Humbling indeed! SOO SOOO grateful!!!
Elder Kyle Paskett & Ryker - connecting via Facebook Messenger, since it was Kyle’s P-day. SO fun!!
